Anybody here want to gamble on who will be this season's winner?
For my money it's Katrina. (straight, light brown/blonde hair, orange tan-out-of-a-bottle skin, a hard face, Irish?) She's the one that really laid into Paul 'I-can-cook-sausages' Callaghan. She's a tough cookie, and I sense, really quite ruthless, almost sociopathic.
I think the runner-up will be Tre (tall, middle-eastern looking, swears a lot). Initially I really didn't like him. But I'm warming to the guy. He's surprisingly witty actually.
My favourite moment so far from Apprentice was between Rory (another posh guy, who led the team when they had to brainstorm a pet accessory I think)...and Tre :-
Rory: I am your boss Tre: No...you're not Rory: I AM your boss Tre: You're not Rory: I am YOUR boss Tre: Your are not my boss. Rory: I am your BOSS Tre: Your are nothing to me.
At the beginning of each program, they show that bit. Classic.

I think you might have it with Katrina.
Not so sure about Trey. He's certainly improved and knuckled down but he's yet to have this new found empathy and control to be tested.
We'll see how well the better one's react when the fish pool starts to dry up.
Naomi Lay (the blonde) is a interesting outsider who might stand a chance if she doesn't screw up too badly.
It changes each week and if last year's result is anything to go by, impossible to judge even 6 weeks in.

Nah they'll never lead if they could lead effectively, they would already be in business and being successful, the fact they need to learn from the bolshy git that is Alan Suger shows then cant do it on their own.
And to be honest Sugar made his millions in the boom of the computer age with Amstrad, i don't think i actually buy any products that are made by his companies.

I don't actually think Sugar could make his millions now if he started out again with just a van and a hundred quid. This is something he's said several times to the Apprentices - that he could do it all again...easy. As a matter of fact I have a strong suspicion that most multi-miilionaires made their fortune NOT because of their business savvy, not neccessarily through working very hard....(don't get me wrong, these are two very useful traits)...but simply because they got lucky.
During my life I have worked with a variety of energetic, 'drop dead shrewd' people who worked their nuts off, and sadly, never managed to achieve any notable success.
It really P**** me off when rich successful people grab full credit for their success, when in fact, there were many other factors out of their control that decided their fortune. Sugar's one of those arrogant barstewards. Richard Branson, by contrast, concedes that his fortune was the result of luck falling his way on more than one occasion...most notably the initial success of Tubula Bells which if I recall, he bet everything on. |

Ah yes, 1973.
What a great year to 'bet the farm' on a plucky young Scot.
Great year to be born as well...Blockbuster by The Sweet was no1.
Have a go and be prepared for a shock:

Sugar is focused and determined and 'no' does not exist in his dictionary. He appears arrogant but that's because he believes in himself, and his experience has worked for him. With those sort of qualities, I think he could make a fortune again although not necessarily in the same way that he made his original as times have changed. But the secret of financial success is one's ability to be extremely flexible in the current market whilst remaining focused and determined.

Just watched this weeks episode on video. Adam was the right choice to go; he can't lead, make logical decisions or negotiate. But I don't like that Katie. She's a a snobby bitch. The whole time, she had a smug, gloating smile on her face. Cow. |

I agree with you. I can't stand her smirk. But she's just the sort of character SrAllan can identify with, so I think she is in with a chance (famous last words).

So, Katie went last night, but not in the usual manner. Actually, credit to her for doing the right thing even though she didn't have to.

yep Katie's gone, good job too, she wasn't in it to advance her career, she'd already reached that level, and I really think she had never even thought about the whole relocation thing. Good for her to admit she had had second thoughts, but did anyone watch her on Your Fired on BBC2? talk about up her own ar*e, boss of Ultimo Bra's gave her a run for her money or what!
So it's Simon and Katrina in the final, well i reckon Katrina will walk it! Simon get too nervous in front of large groups of people or under pressure, just look at his body language in the interviews. and those horrible green socks, what was that man thinking!
Should be interesting though....

My money is on Simon. He can be trained up both in confidence talking and dress sense. I think his best asset is he has integrity. Katrina.....she is too bitchy for my taste.

I don't know, the snippet about his lack lustre management of his town house he rents out, tells me he overlooks the little things. that worries me, the big picture is one thing, but the little details are what makes the machine work well.
