My dear Simon
One of these days I may just lose my job!
Reason?
Well one of my favourite times of the day, and about the only chance I do get to read, is during the early morning 'Call of Nature'. I sit on my throne, gripped at the latest chapter in 'The Eagles' books and it always becomes a battle between the author and my watch.
There I am trying to cram as many pages as possible, because it's always a case of, 'Ooh I'll just finish this chapter..." and me looking at my watch as time ticks on. It really is going to get me into trouble. Especially the latest one I'm reading - 'The Eagles Prey'. Sweet Lord it's gripping stuff. I know most of you will have read this one, but as I'm new here, that's where I'm at.
I read the back cover and thought no more of it and then wallop! Our heroes are in the brown and smelly stuff. I didn't see that one coming. I just can't put it down!
So Simon if you ever see an email appeal for 'Graphic designer, loves Simon Scarrow books, seeks work' you'll know it's me.
May I also apologise in advance if any images of me with my trousers round my ankles trying to speed-read in the morning have come to mind!
I really must start reading at night...

There was a thread many months ago asking Simon to ensure that his books were water-resistant, as the reader read them in the bath. Water-resistant would also be 'brown and smelly stuff" resistant.
I really must go for a coffee. I need reviving after this vision of Dave with his trousers around his ankles....

My apologies Ankhsy, I meant Cato and Macro in the smelly stuff, not the actual book. I've re-read what I put and can see why you need a coffee!
Make it a strong one mate... |

| Seems like the boffins need to think some more. E-readers clearly aren't the answer here. Pee-readers? Wee-readers? (That's not the small kind you understand). Faeces-readers? |

Luminous pages would also be helpful... i tell the wife whilst in bed, that i`ll just read a chapter before sleep and three hours later she`s nagging about the light being on.With these "wonder pages" i could read in the dark without disturbing her !!!....... (god i need to get out more!)

Get Headline to print up a Christmas special Bog Roll Eagles Conquest. I can just imagine Macro telling some grunt that he's not fit to wipe his arse! Eagle in the Sand might not sell well though - a bit gritty maybe. You could write a special one off, Eagle Quilted Velvet... 'When they're hard, you sometimes need soft...'
