Having had my head stuck in some Roman History books of laike i have come up with a few historical incidents for Cato and Macro to get involved in.
Not sure how far we have got time wise yet but here goes
AD 47 General Corbulo defeats the frisii in germany. Our boys get hooked up to fight in the north again. Macro is annoyed at leaving the flesh pots of syria but Narcissus blackmails them
AD 53 Corbulo now a mate of our pair of heros is given command in the East. The army is sent to boot camp Macro and Cato are called in to kick the legions into shape. Much fighting
AD 60 Suetonius Paulinus attacks and destroys the druids on Anglesey.
AD 61 Macros bint Boudicca rebels
AD 64 Corbulo mounts massive invasion into Armenia.
AD 66 GAllus attacks Jeruselem but gets his but kicked by the jews. Macro and Cato form the rear guard that allows the rest of the army to escape. (Maybe vitallius can be involved in some form of deception here)
AD 67 Vespasian given command against the Jews... Calls his mates in to help him sort the legions out and take the fight to the Jews
AD 68 - 69 Year of the 4 emporers.... enought said
AD70 THE LAST HURRAH... (CATO will be about 40 and macro at least 55) Fall of jeruselem. Heres an interesting asside during the seige there are is a problem of taking a makeshift fortification after the fall of the antonia fortress. One assult fails, so one night on their own initiative twenty legionaries, a signifer, a trumpter and two cavalry officers climb up and take the rampart...... now who could those two cavalry officers be... hmmmmm now let me see.)
Any more thoughts anyone

CATO will be about 40 and macro at least 55 at the fall of Jerusalem? A bit old to be still fighting, aren't they?

Maybe maybe not. The legionaires of the Principate typically did 25 years service so Cato will be coming to the end of his career. Macro.... well every read Legend by David Gemmel

MAcro could be still attached to the legion, maybe with a slight incapacity as a trainer of new recruits??...shame to waste the experience?? keeps his place in the legion due to experience and friends??

Parm, that's a great idea! Titus was educated together with Claudius' son, Britannicus, in Rome, so there is scope for Macro, Cato & Tituts to meet next time the dynamic duo are back in the capital. Also, Tituts served as a tribune (I think) in Britain and Germany in the 60s, so there is scope there, although that is much later.
Where are we now with the books? Mid 40s? Titus would be 5 to 7 yr old. Sooner rather than later would be a good idea.

They have met Titus already in the books
Moriarty: I see that ten years in Britain have not changed your Imperial Roman outlook, Caesar. Caesar (G): True, Moriartus, always a Roman eye. Moriarty: Will you take wine? Caesar: No thanks, I think I'll have a half of mild and a packet of crisps.

Yes, but he was only a child and probably doesn't remember them. They have to meet again when he is older.

I would like to know if Cato will be married and will have children? And why not? He could get a woman after 25 years of legion!

Nísia, just because some dust I kicked when fresh arrived to this forum, can you check the interval between start and completion of the Roman dominion of the Iberian peninsula? I have the feeling that it is contemporaneous to (part) of the time Cato and friends where at war...

All of it, not even the proverbial isolated village remained? ;-)

I don't think so, Viri. In 74AD, Vespasian granted Latin status to all town in Hispania (which included Portugal). So by Cato and Macro's time, the Iberian peninsula was pretty much romanised.
