Been thinking this over for a few days. What would make the prefect ancient / medieval army. Lets say a max of 20000 men. How would you break it up using the following 'types'
Heavy Infantry Light Infantry Missle Infantry Heavy Cavalry Light Cavalry Missle Cavalry And the general
No seige weapons for ease and simplicity
I would split mine as follows
Heavy Infantry - 10000 approx - 2 Legions cica BC 60 - AD 90 Light Infantry - 1000 Pontians (mithradaties) Missle Infantry - 3000 English Longbowmen Heavy Cavalry - 2000 companions (Macadonians alexandra the great) Light Cavalry - 2000 monguls Missle Cavalry - 2000 cataphrates - parthians
General.... not sure but scipio africanus I think
A good mix i think
Anyone else
Moriarty: I see that ten years in Britain have not changed your Imperial Roman outlook, Caesar. Caesar (G): True, Moriartus, always a Roman eye. Moriarty: Will you take wine? Caesar: No thanks, I think I'll have a half of mild and a packet of crisps.
