no mate my shop only sells signed first editions, but i also will try and source any title your looking for. \I cant afford to but all sorts of stock, the other option would be to list all books available and then get them in from the publisher, but it would mean delivery to the customer would take more than a week...not sure if people would be happy with that?

Why not start with one genre? say fantasy... invest in a small but select/formative stock and see what happens? Little acorns and all that...reinvest all profits on more stock and a little queue jumping on the web advertisement structure and go from there!
I`ll have Legend by D.Gemmell plus a few others when your up and running!!!!!

erm FP if you saw Parms piles of books, you would probably have to sit down... It's not having the stock it's being competitive enough to take on the likes of Waterstones and Amazon. which is the hard bit. Parm Wins that battle with the Signed books etc, but you'll not make a massive amount of money from it....
Parm you would do better to get more arrangements with the publishing houses and get batches of signed books upon publication. I seem to be seeing more and more titles in the shops that are signed by the auther but i know full well that the auther never been to that shop. Much like the Waterstones edition of Centurion.

it all comes down to capital, im trying to organise a slipcased edition of Conns next book...ut i would need to buy 250 copies...thats a lot, so i would have to spread the load accross other online retailers...this title alone would set me back a couple of grand....so its a big risk

yeah very big risk, and it's always a gamble as you might not sell enough to recoup your costs and then make a profit.

Especially if you are spreading your stock among other retailers, there is no guarantee that the customers would come to you instead of the others so if its a risk you want to take...

Also want the doc to tell me how bad this high blood pressure is, and what i should be doing about it?

Well if the blood tests find something then i suppose they might be able to do something about it but then again you don't really want them to find anything wrong. Just hope it goes ok for you and let the doctors sort it out.

"12/80"? If your doctor wants it _that_ low I think you need a new doctor! Or did you mean 120/80?
Cheers

well my BP is down already, shows what a little good eating an reduction in salt can do.
For the headaches they have started me on Beta blockers to try and break the headache cycle, so far they have made the headaches worse and made me throw up and i have not slept...but all of these are early side effects...they go after a few days...(or so it says) ...we shall see....not lookin forward to several days without any sleep...

Oh dear, Parm. One would think that with all the advances in modern science, the doctors could figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. But just look on the positive side, soon you'll be a racing snake....er ahem, of course you are that already, but even more slim and sylph-like.
I thought beta-blockers were intended to treat migraines; not make them worse. Maybe you should leave off computer screens for a while. The flicker and resulting eye strain can cause really bad headaches, I'm told, if one is already vulnerable.

thought i'd give you all an update... New medication: slow release beta blockers, and they seem to be working, the headaches are getting less, not as harsh and not as frequent with the really bad ones.
Also: my son alex, passed his first exams fot the army, next stage is his medical, which should be a breeze, then he has more tests and a couple of interviews, basic training is Sept if he makes it...finger crossed.
