I agree with you on the most part John, it's just that this is once a year, with the chance we might actually win something. However this is highly unlikely with the political voting but hey, all a good laugh.

i've seen the points, was the German one good or bad as it's interesting that the big 'four' all scored relatively low

Ours was terrible, the Germans was abit weird, not bad or good, just weird! 4 women with massive wigs!

No one votes for us as we are isolated, no political voting. Therefore our voting is probably the fairest, we have noone to favour so we give them to the best music. We gave 12 to Greece

I think we should have an English-speaking Nations Song Competition. UK, Ireland, the Commonwealth and the US. Drop out of Eurovision completely, there's never anything good from it even apart from the dreadful "Contest" (and by the way, that word is a verb not a noun). In the old days it was a good laugh - every year Katie Boyle was bound to have at least one crossed line (votes were cast in each country's studio and notified by telephone) which led to such gems as:
Katie - "bonjour Monaco, les voix du jurie Monagesque, s'il vouz plait"
Gutteral voice - "Guten abend Katie, hier ist Berlin"
All at home - fallen on the floor laughing.

Cheers

John
