I've put up a 2nd trailer on YouTube for SUNS, which has a different, piece of music and some extra visuals. Think of it as a remix.
This is the original version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PvdbSvdJ0o
And this is the new version with different music plus extra visuals
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fUqMw4vYb8
Which one do you find most appealing?

I've not heard the audio yet, but the visuals are much better! there does seem to be a glitch when you zoom into the bomb, has a green top and bottom not sure whats happening there.
All in all Sweet!!!!

Prefered the first, much tighter, but it's the music 'what' does it (are there any copyright issues with that?). I think the Hitler image is a tad cliched, doesn't need it. The second version is more of a 'teaser', the first more of a 'trailer'. On a minor picky note I think you need another image of the B-17 without the Lightning and preferably over water and a really nerdy picky note wouldn't your bomb tumble without fins?
Actually, thinking about the Hitler image, I think it's the wrong one as much as anything. One of him looking straight out at 'you' would be better.

yeah there are issues with copyright. But at the moment YouTube is flooded with people mimeing to their favourite pop song. I think the approach is to keep it up, until Tube take it down for infringement....or I get a 'cease and desist' in the post.

I wasn't thinking at YouTube level, it's just that it works so well in the triler and would seem a shame to drop it!

Just seen both trailers. I like the second one better, its a lot moodier than the first, spooky even. Plus the gfx are better.
What did you use? Maya? MAX? Lightwave? |

Like I said, the second is the 'teaser' to seduce you and the first is the 'trailer' to whip you up into a frenzy of anticipative excitement

Alex Had you thought about doing a flash macromedia into for the home page of the web site? a compilation trailer for your work and Simons. you would need to include a skip option for those that had seen it, but for some one stumbling accross it, i think it would be a great way to drag them in.
it could then link to the current home page after the trailer or if you slick skip.

I like the visual in the second much better but found the music irritating. I think the music for the first was more dramatic. Really clever! What talent!
Have I overdone the flattery?

Hi Alex
From the point of view of someone who hasn't read the book i don't think it was a great idea to miss out the phrase "four hours later the surrender was withdrawn" on the second clip. If i had watched the remix trailer first, then i would have been scratching my head as to how the allies managed to surrender without anyone appearing to notice .............. I mean i've been on some great benders in my time and forgotten lots of things, but i'm pretty certain that i'd remember my country surrendering to Nazi Germany ............................ I just think the begining of the first clip set out the plot clearer than the second clip to someone who knew nothing about the book.
Other than that I liked the music in both of them, but the theme to Where Eagles Dare does grab you a bit more. (though i could be biased as i have a soft spot for that film )
The plot sounds good though, so i ordered the book yesterday ............ looking forward to it |

good feedback there, which I'll use, thanks. I'm going to do a third and final edit, polish up some rough edges, and this final version hopefully will be used extensively to market the paperback, and also to tease some interest out of the movie biz.
I'm glad it piqued your interest. |

i showed the clips to the wife, the imagry in the 2nd & 3rd is better than the first but she said the first is more likely to make her a neutral buy the book. Its the words, in the first clip they sell the book.
she also said just before the end it lacks a punchy tag line!! not sure what..but something
