Reading "Young bloods" and loving it. I have had a soft spot for Wellington for a quite a few years now. But, even if I am always looking forward to his chapters, I am enjoying Napoleon, too. I am very thankful to Simon for luring me to his life.
After returning from Angers, when Arthur meets his mother and her friend, he is talking about Sheridan's play and that he has heard that "Captain Absolute" was based on a real person. (PB 2007, p. 214) Was this by any chance a nod to C.C. Humphreys and his fictional Jack Absolute? Quite a nice series, too.
Hi Grisel You got it right. I'm a huge fan of Chris's books and wanted to pay him a trubute. After the trouble I got into with Prophecy I made sure that Chris was asked first and he is happy with the reference. He's a great guy and a great writer. Just wish he had decided not to move to Canada. (Was it something I said?)
