Is it the book or the author which is nominated?

Ankhsy's post indicates novelist.
Andy's indicates novel.

It's a book/author thing i believe. As the Books is nominated for Best Debut Thriller, the fact Alex wrote it means he is nominated too.

Still think its a shame Alex cannot go...Clive cussler will be there, the king of cheesy adventure books

but for all his cheesy book the guy is amazing check out his numa site http://www.numa.net/

Well, Thrillerfest is pushing Last Light on the basis of Alex's nomination for Thousand Suns, so that is good publicity.

Oh well. No joy. Jolly glad I didn't fork out a chunk of money to fly over and clap someone else.

*sigh*

best way to deal weith it IMHO, dont get down about it, yours was a great book and could just as easily have won it, but it comes down to the taset of those voting, IMHO that does not make 1 book better than any other, just to get short listed was a win.
And last light..well, fingers crossed that will be a smash this year and get you back in the awards for next year.
