Ah-hah! It's listed on Amazon at last

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TimeRiders-Alex-Scarrow/dp/0141326921/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1251380130&sr=1-1

What do you think of the cover?

Looks good to me - a bit "anime" (or do I mean "manga"?)but without the big eyes, should catch the target audience's attention!

So now we know the release date and can start asking about Scarrowshop CEs (grin).

Cheers

Looks too manga I think. UNless Puffin comes up with a cross-over cover for adult readers this might limit the market somewhat. Any news on marketing plans Alex?

are they even trying for the adult market?
I suppose i have got used to looking at it from a YA perspective. but Simon is right in that if you want wider appeal you will want an alternate cover, like Potter does.

The approach is very much about nailing the target market first. Then once there's a loyal market there, I'm hoping they'll be thinking of a strategy to include adults later on.

We'll see how the US publishers handle it. I'd love them to duplicate the Potter model, and pitch TR as a crossover read for adults.

(hey Simes....are you poolside as well?)
