Not entirely sure what bug I have caught but it's a real pain. Been in bed for three days and done nothing but cough, groan and sleep. On the upside I have read a few books to pass the time and managed to shed nearly half a stone this week. Now, two paracetemol and a cup of tea and back to bed.

Tough break Simon...any chance its the ole Piggy flu?
Hope you feel better soon. At least you wont have to go out trick or treating! has to be a bonus in this weather!
oh and if you get really bored you could read the entrie for the Aug comp on youwriteonline (its the Comp where we had to make a nod to Macro and Cato, without using the plot line from the books. Some good stuff there...if i do say so myself.) All waiting on you to judge the winner. (grin)

| Took your advice Parm. A good spread of stories with some very neat takes on Macro and Cato. I thought your tale was very true to their cheeky self-interest. Anyway, the winner is... (da,da, da, darrrrr) The Last Day. |

Cheers Simon, i hope they put a smile on your face while you were feeling down.....have to say mine wrote its self when i was reading a story about some bloke finding some coins in a field in the local paper...after that it was all fun...i really enjoyed it. gave me a welcome break from writing my own stuff which was bogged down.
BTW: not that i hid it in any subtle way, but how did you like the little play on Marcus and Carter being a little modern nod to Macro and Cato while on the trail of the treasure...as well as the ending?
there is some good talent on the youwriteonline site and its growing steadily.
anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to read and judge them, its much appreciated.
keep taking the lemsip and lucozade.

I know how you feel Simon. I'm still suffering from the bad cold which confined me to bed three weeks ago. It's a bad bug. Take care and I hope you feel better soon.

| If the shot stops you getting the bug, I'd go for it Parm. This is no joke. I have hardly been able to stand up for more than a minute or so for the last five days, my head has been pounding and feels like it is stuffed with wool. I can hardly concentrate on a thing. I can't bear to eat and my stomach aches, and now I have a full blown cough that feels like a bucket of broken glass has been tipped into my lungs. I'd take the shot. |

Ta, Simon. Yup, that cough that feels like your lungs are being ripped to shreds; stomach feels like Mike Tyson has had a go; and my brain was mothballed. Is this mild swine flu or just a bad cold?
Have the shot, Parm. Normally I'd say don't go near it, but in your case, it's a safer option.
