Question: I have a deduction from studies and ancient Roman paintings. The oroginal Romans were different in appearances than maodern Europeans to be sure. The later paintings(late Romans),the Romans looked like a cosompolitan cities of today. Where did the originals go? They all just mix in to oblivian? Their appeareances(early)can be studied, they were a very sinewy muscular type in body, unlike anything you can find today. a couple of inches shrter than moderns perhaps, maybe similar.(However original alwys burned their dead ,so we zero on this, just paintings) They had a fierce body type that can explain their physical success beyond just training. Cannot find this in many late Roman paintings. However, another charcteristic is that the original Romans did not have attractive facial charcteristics at all! Later period seem to alleviate this. Modern Europeans anywhere do not resemble the original Romans, so strange. Does anybody think the the originals were a seperate 'racial'type than moden humans? Perhaps, just perhaps they may be. |

As far as I can tell Europeans have naturally become taller through decent diet and health care.

Hello all,
My Dad introdued me to the books with my dread fasination with everything Roman, I finished all the Eagles books including Centurion and needed a further Eagles fix so Googled Scarrow to see if any further books are due, and stumbled across this Forum.

Gladius introduced me to it. I think it should be advertised more though, maybe in the back of Simon Scarrows books.

I tried to order a signed copy of the new Napolean & Wellington book to be published in January. I discovered Goldsboro would not carry it and e-mailed Hatchard's and ordered my copy. I googled your name to try to locate book sellers who might carry your book, but no joy.

Is the pre-order option available for it already? I can't find it.

It's not listed yet. usually add it about 4 weeks before release date. which is still currently early January. I've not heard of it being released before xmas, would be cool if it were.... Soon as Pre-ordering is open, I'll post on here to let you all know.

Don't mention "new blood" too loudly, Parm. Raptor's ear's swished frantically when he heard it.

. . . new blood, eh! So that's what I have become. Hmmmm! ;-) I will stick around for a while, for sure. I read/am reading Simon Scarrow and see no reason to 'jump ship' yet awhile.
So you find 'Quilpusha' an interesting name - good. I have been 'Quilpusha' for around ten years, on various forums. It certainly does it for me.

During our 2 week book tour we'll be handing out some promotional CDROMs featuring lots of interesting content; video interviews, background stuff on our books, lots of piccies/art/goodies, and also some cool bookmarks that promote this website and forum.
So, I'm hoping during this next two and weeks and after, we'll start to see an influx of new members. It's going to useful to find out whether the bookmarks and the CDROMs are working for us.
Anyway this poll is open to existing members and new arrivals. Please feel free to vote and add a comment on how you found your way here.

I found your website's URL on the Jacket of Fire and Sword and found my way here.
In terms of marketing, there is no substiture for a good product and having read the Eagle series I was naturally drawn to the Young Bloods both because of the subject and Simon's style of writing.
My suggestion for a wider audience is to get on to a TV programme like the One Show with Adrian Childs as they are nearly always promoting authors.

I didn't realise he had a brother who writes too, so will have a read of his too. I started reading a few of the threads and thought if I am going stick around I may as well join in! |
