Ave,

I picked up "The Eagle's Prophecy" this evening and decided to check out what's next in the series. To my surprise I not only discovered "Sands" but also this Forum.

My interests range from Roman Military Diplomas to the Roman Army from Augustus to the death of Trajan.

I can't claim to be an expert on anything but I do have a decent collection of books which include the "Eagle" series amongst many others.

Vale

Especially in the book clearance shop, I have a good phobia on over priced books. It's a rare author that gets my attention like Simon Scarrow, he had me gripped through out the book.

Welcome to the group, legate's Clerk! I know what you mean about overpriced books, but when it comes to Simon's (and a few other favorite authors) I just have to buy the hardcover as soon as possible - the paperback takes too long to appear.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum LC, Ing and Spedius. It's good to see new that new members have joined our band. As for book prices, I'm with you on that one. Much as I like the extra income from 17.99 hardbacks I can't help feeling they would sell many more at a lower price. That's why I insisted on 12.99 for Young Bloods and funnily enough it seems to have worked. Now I'll turn my guns on lowering the eagles prices.

I found a clearance book shop where I live, the paper backs when I find them are £1.99. The hard back I found was £3.99, I'll wait for the paper backs to come in to the shop.

I can't wait to see what else they are given, a good book is a jewel in the mound of rubbish out there. So glad I'm back into reading, now I don't know what to do as I don't have the other books in the Eagle series :(

Any suggestions while waiting for scarrow books to come in :D any other authors that are as good?
