I searched for the site on A9. I had just finished reading the Eagle in the Sand and wanted to see what was next. The reason I logged on was that i saw that someone had given the recent book a bad review. The news said that the reviewer was from the US, and hadnt read the book. I'm ashamed; I'm from the US. Going to go looking for this review. Ive read all the eagle books, some more than once. Tell Simon to keep up the good work. |

Welcome, TonyM! I think those bogus reviews have been deleted by Amazon, so you probably won't find them. Hang around these discussion groups and you'll find Simon chipping in quite often.
Cheers

| I was at a conference (here in New Zealand)recently and since I had a bit of spare time waiting around I went to a local book store and found Simon's eagle series. I bought 'Under the Eagle,' read most of it that night and went back to the book store the next day and bought the next five in the series. I haven't enjoyed a good ol' Roman yarn since the Andrew Quiller 'The Eagles' series. Nice to know there are a lot of avid readers out there -- Paul |

Hello. This is my first posting. I found you on Google. I read the "Eagles Conquest" first and was hooked from there on. I'm now up to date and reading "The Eagles Prophecy", and I cannot wait for the "Eagle in the Sand". In the meantime I have "Young Bloods".
I used to be a historical reenacter and I have friends in the Ermine Street Guard. What I love about the "Eagle" series is that it puts very human faces on the soldiers of the Roman Legions, something that always seems to be forgotten when talking about the Roman War Machine.
Cheers,
Dave

| Have been reading the Eagle series for the best part of a year or so (have been reading other stuff, not that slow a reader!!) at sea on my submarine. When I got back I googled Scarrow and got to here. That was a few months ago, but after browsing the site today, thought I would finally join and say hello. |

Thanx for the welcome everybody, I have been a Submariner for 20 years or so, so i'm quite used to it, but it is still quite confining. We can e-mail if we are at periscope depth but unfortunately can't access the internet. most people do read quite a bit and as well as the Eagle series i've just finished Conn Igguldens Emperor series and will read anything Bernard Corwell's done with the exception of Sharpe. |

| I found this page from the back of the first Eagle book, I must say I am completely addicted, and just finished Young Bloods, and am anticipating my next reads in both series. They are fantastic, and have kept me happily distracted during many an hour at sea. |
