I just got an email from Amazon with their offer for Sands, so maybe they sent it out to all people who are marked as interested, hence the big jump.

I got the email too, but i've not registered for it at all. could be from the fact i purchased Conns new books from there i guess.
Although i do have in a bag by my desk 2 copies of HB Sands all ready for simons moniker on thursday night...hehe

Yeah, that is how they work it out. I've only bought one of Simons books of Amazon and I got it. Also I get them for Conns and Bernard Cornwell despite never having bought any of their books from Amazon. But it shows their system works because I like those authers!

At number 31 today
How can Amazon discount the book so heavily? It's offering practically £7 off!

You do get 1st editions if you pre-order. Also, you can check the dates of publication or ask them to confirm the edition. I have found Amazon very helpful.

Of course your service is second to none, Parm (desperately trying to keep on Parm's right side or I won't get my Sands book).

Amazon does have its uses - Parm's a great chap (grovel, grovel for my copy of Sands) but even he doesn't have all the US-published books I want.
Cheers

Ahem! _We_ are part of the buying public. At least, I think we all do actually buy Simon's and Alex's books.
Cheers

We are above the buying public...we are the 'private' public, the creme de la creme, the polished lot who bask in the Scarrow shadow.
The fact that basking in a shadow is a contradition doesn't matter.
