I've just had this from Amazon:

We recommend: The Eagle in the Sand
by Simon Scarrow
http://www.amazon.co.uk/o/ASIN/0755327748/ref=pe_ar_x20755327748

List Price: £17.99
Price: £8.99
You Save: £9.00 (50%)

Recommended because you purchased or rated:
* Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter 6) [Children's Edition]

Oh the shame of it, to be compared to Harry Potter! Cato and Macro are far, far better!

Cheers

John

Actually it was a present for my grandson. He's too young for it yet, but he'll grow into it and by then the hardcover will be out of print.

Cheers

Secret? What's secret about it? Of course I read the books before I handed them over - at 1,600 wpm I read anything and everything I get my hands on unless it's absolutely awful (like Cornwell's Arthur series, and even that I managed to struggle through to the end before giving them away. Which was probably a bad mistake, they were first editions and _someone_ must like the story.).

Cheers

I'll thank you not to launch my head at anything,Parm. What you do with your gauntlet is your own affair.

But since you seem to challenge me I have the choice of weapons, n'est-ce pas? So I select the Lee-Enfield Mk 4 at 200 yards. My favourite distance, I can put 2 aimed shots in a 2 inch circle in 2 seconds. (grin) Don't bother with the lances Andy, it's going to be over before he can blink.

But if you think those terrible Arthur stories are good, I suppose you imagine that Cornwell can actually write a good story outside the Napoleonic period.

Cheers

{Wanders off dejectedly to store the lances back in the weapons warehouse, but brightens up when he realises he has to prepare 2 x Lee-Enfield Mk4's for tomorrow morning}

Question: how many rounds each do you want?

No thanks, I don't shoot clay pigeons - they're for shotguns, not precision shooting with rifles.

But I'll try not to hurt Parm _too_ much. Maybe a light flesh wound to leave an interesting scar for showing off on the beach?

Cheers

I'm rather handy with a 30mm Cannon, but I'm not too sure if I can leave a light flesh wound?
