How about a rival story following the exploits of Caracticus during the time of the first few Eagle books. Showing the storie from caracticus' point of view.
'those bloody Romans'
'Rumour has it that it was a centurion and a boy optio...'
'Damn that Macro and Cato!'
'You know that roman optio that always falls over in battle'
' That centurion every one calls marco instead of macro....'

nice idea stom, try to get a feeling of being on the receiving end of Macro and Cato's exploits. we would find it hard to sympathise with Caratacas though, as the writer would ahve to be careful to keep his exploits grounded in history opposed to having freedom of charcter movement. I'm sure simon will tell you that writing the bloods books is harder than the eagles as he has to me more historicaly accurate.

yeah something like that, be good for a more personal story on macros side, we've had Catos love of Lavina, so maybe it macros turn for some heart ache and revenge, i'm not sure on the date bits but maybe could be tied in to include Vittelus' downfall and death as emporer in 69AD (was the boudicca uprising before or after then????) ultimate revenge on vittelus if simon manages to include Vittelus in the boudicca campaign to upset Macro somehow.

Don't forget Vittelius will be imperor only for 8 months and Claudius rules during 13 years and Boudica's insurrection was 60AC. I think in that time it was nero who rules the empire.
I had found this intereting sentence in wikipedia about Boudica name The name is attested in inscriptions as "Boudica" in Lusitania, "Boudiga" in Bordeaux and "Bodicca" in Britain.[3]

Yeah Nisia, thats what worries me, is the time frame wether they will still be around, I knew Vittelius was only Imperator for 8months, and 9yrs later than Boudicca's rebelion, but Macro seems the type to harbour revenge and make revenge sweet.

Vespasian's elder brother, Titus Flavius Sabinus, the city prefect, was successful in an effort to convince Vitellius to abdicate but was frustrated by the mob in Rome and the emperor's soldiers. Forced to flee to the Capitol, Sabinus was set upon by Vitellius' German troops and soon killed, with the venerable Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus set ablaze in the process. Within two days, the Flavian army fought its way into Rome. In a pathetic final move, Vitellius disguised himself in dirty clothing and hid in the imperial doorkeeper's quarters, leaning a couch and a mattress against the door for protection. Dragged from his hiding place by the Flavian forces, he was hauled off half-naked to the Forum, where he was tortured, killed, and tossed into the Tiber. The principate could now pass to Vespasian.
Guess who could find him they could be in the city as Domitians body guards as he was in ROme during theyear of the 4 emporers
