OK. Brutus is new to me so I`m not sure where he fits in, in the bigger picture, so to speak.
Ideas and opinions please.
Its time to squeeze (and name.) the well dressed man and discover a plot to kill Simonius? Is this our direction? Whats the plot? A bribed loyal cohort maybe? A race to save him?

Yeah well hes a new guy, hes kinda of questionable loyalty maybe.
I think that the man should tell some information but then try to escape but get killed???
The plot to kill simonius is good, i think this is the way to go.

Too many plots like that already, and we are going around in circles. I propose something different.
How about tha arrogant man is a seer of some sort and fortells the end of the world unless the "Eagle" leads his people. He is leading his band of runaway slaves and freedmen in search of this "Eagle". But he is confounded when he finds out that Simonius' clan name is in fact "aquila" and then throws his support in with the Romans.

Guys, it's dragging. Enough of the ideals and lets move on. If these bunch are going to make a contribution to the story, we can keep them. Otherwise, have Jehanus crucify them.

I had intended to ask if it was safe to get back into the story yet, but after looking I can see it isn't. Plots, ploys, plans and counter-plots, ploys and plans! When will we get Jehanus moving again to link up with Simonius in the nick of time for the final battle?
