Are there _enough_ ranks in Star Trek? Ensign (ugh, horrible Americanism for Midshipman), Lootenant (American again, they can't even pronounce the word properly), Captain, Admiral.
Cheers

| uh, I suppose Alex could do Star Trek cast members. But it's got to be old school ST, none of that modern next-gen rubbish |

Agreed, it's got to be the original ST series.
No, there can only be one James T Kirk, which really must go to the Scarrow moderator.
However, think of all those life forms encountered. The rankings might like to take into consideration how high up the evolutionary scale rankings go, all the way from Tribbles to Vulcans.

Yes, everyone knows an Ensign is what a Second Lieutenant used to be called in the British Army. And a flag of course.
You know, I'm pretty sure the Imperial Navy in Star Wars has Midshipmen, which just goes to show they're much better than those namby-pamby Rebels after all.
How about Dalek ranks? (from lowest rank up) Gunner; Warrior; Unit Commander; Saucer Commander; Field Commander; Special Ops Commander; Supreme Councillor; Dalek Prime; Imperial Guard; Emperor; Member of the Cult of Skaro; Commander of the Cult of Skaro.
Or Time Lords: Chancellory Guardsman; Ordinal; Castellan; Ordinal General; Apprentice; Time Lord; Junior Cardinal; Under Cardinal; Cardinal; Prime Cardinal; High Cardinal; Chancellor; President; Under Assassin; Assassin; Third Speaker; Second Speaker; Director

Since when has been being a Star Trek fan a geek? Don't equate me with Bill Gates.

I used to like Star Trek, but I got tired of the repeated storylines. And of the way that _every_ new alien race discovered always spoke American.

Now I'm no expert of Star Trek but surely that's Ferengi?
By the way Parm, did you know that there are four different types of Star Destroyer which appear in Return of the Jedi? There's one Executor class Star Dreadnought or 'Super Star Destroyer', several examples of both the Type I and Type II sub-classes of the Imperator-class Star Destroyer, and an unidentified fourth class, possibly a Heavy Fleet Destroyer, of which only the ventral side is seen and which is notable for lacking any visible docking bays...

Your right Carus, it is Ferengi. That's interesting about Star Wars, will have to watch them again one day.

Thank you
And there's more where that came from! as the Goons used to say.
Plenty more from Doctor Who and Star Wars... and then there's Discworld, Biker Mice from Mars...
Let me assure you that our attempts to turn you into a gibbering wreck are intended entirely as a gesture of friendship.
